AquaSapone, premium grade essential oils from Australia for aromatherapy and cosmetics
Australian Nerolina - Essential oil of Melaleuca quinquenervia, chemotype LN: description & uses
Like Australian Niaouli, Nerolina is extracted from the leaves and twigs of a selected chemotype of the Broad-Leaved Paperbark, Melaleuca quinquenervia. Equal parts of linalool and nerolidol give this oil very distinctive lavender and lilac notes.
- Place of origin
- Northern New South Wales/Southern Queensland
- Production method
- Steam distilled from the leaves and terminal branchlets of Melaleuca quinquenervia.
- Main components
- Linalool and nerolidol (approx. 50% each).
- Aroma
- A clean, mildly woody scent with distinctive lavender and lilac notes.
- Main uses
- Aromatherapy, cosmetics. A valuable blending oil with the ability to 'lift' ordinary aromas with small additions to the compound.
- Comments
- In cosmetics and perfumery, Nerolina can save a lot of money, as it can be successfully used as a replacement for the top grade French lavenders (Lavandula Angustifolia).
- Safety notes
- Safe in terms of toxicity, skin irritancy.
For full details, refer to MSDS, GC and Physicochemical Data reports from supplier/distiller..
- Blending suggestions
- Blends well with other Australian EO's. Some suggested blends you might like to try include:
Australian essential oils, soap making supplies, natural soap base, skin care ingredients and bases
