Australian Nerolina - Essential oil of Melaleuca quinquenervia, chemotype LN:
description & uses

Like Australian Niaouli, Nerolina is extracted from the leaves and twigs of a selected chemotype of the Broad-Leaved Paperbark, Melaleuca quinquenervia. Equal parts of linalool and nerolidol give this oil very distinctive lavender and lilac notes.

Place of origin
Northern New South Wales/Southern Queensland
Production method
Steam distilled from the leaves and terminal branchlets of Melaleuca quinquenervia.
Main components
Linalool and nerolidol (approx. 50% each).
Aroma
A clean, mildly woody scent with distinctive lavender and lilac notes.
Main uses
Aromatherapy, cosmetics. A valuable blending oil with the ability to 'lift' ordinary aromas with small additions to the compound.
Comments
In cosmetics and perfumery, Nerolina can save a lot of money, as it can be successfully used as a replacement for the top grade French lavenders (Lavandula Angustifolia).
Safety notes
Safe in terms of toxicity, skin irritancy.
For full details, refer to MSDS, GC and Physicochemical Data reports from supplier/distiller..
