AquaSapone, premium grade essential oils from Australia for aromatherapy and cosmetics
Peppermint gum - Essential oil of Eucalyptus dives, chemotype Piperitone: description & uses
The vast majority of commercially available Eucalyptus dives comes from China. Our Eucalyptus dives, chemotype Piperitone, is the most "minty" of the best Australian grown Eucalyptus dives.
- Place of origin
- Australia (Southern NSW)
- Production method
- Steam distillation from the leaves and twigs of Eucalyptus dives.
- Main components
- Piperitone, alpha-phellandrene.
- Aroma
- Distinctive peppermint scent on a eucalyptus undertone.
- Main uses
- Aromatherapy, cosmetics.
- Comments
- Used in aromatherapy for respiratory conditions. Blend with Lemon Myrtle, Kunzea ambigua and Rosalina for a 100% Australian "breath easy" burner blend.
Warning: unlike Peppermint (Mentha piperita), Peppermint Gum has virtually no "bug repelling" properties.
- Safety notes
- Safe in terms of toxicity, skin irritancy. Because alpha-phellandrene is said to be a potential skin irritant, always use diluted in direct skin applications.
For full details, refer to MSDS, GC and Physicochemical Data reports from supplier/distiller..
- Blending suggestions
- Blends well with other Australian natives and with herbal/woody/citrus oils in general. Some blends you might like to try include:
Australian essential oils, soap making supplies, natural soap base, skin care ingredients and bases
