AquaSapone Australia, cosmetic ingredients for natural handmade aromatherapy skin care
Aromatherapy skin care: Natural handmade skin care bases, glycerin soap base, castile soap
Learning how to make your own as natural as possible skincare bases for aromatherapy applications is not difficult. We provide below information and links to other sites, where you can find all you need for your own natural handmade skin care.
Bath, body & massage oil bases
Bath oil bases can incorporate a chemical dispersant or use turkey red oil as the majority ingredient. In both cases, they are not completely and perfectly water-soluble and must therefore be used sparingly.
The main difference between body oils and massage oils is that body oils are meant for being absorbed quickly, whereas slower penetrating oils are preferrable as massage lubricants.
You can refer below for further information on bath oils, body oils and massage oils.
Bath bombs & bath salts bases
Bath bombs are made by pressing into shape a blend of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), citric acid and optional colour and scent. They have little value for your health, however they can be fun and easy enough for children to make.
Bath salts, which often include Epsom salts (magnesium sulphate) and/or washing soda crystals (sodium carbonate), can enhance the relaxing, soothing and pain-relieving action of a warm water bath.
You can refer below for further information on bath bombs & bath salts.
Natural cream & lotion bases
Creams and lotions are emulsions of oils and water (or other water-based liquids, such as aloe vera juice, herbal teas etc.)
Because oil and water do not "naturally" mix, creams and lotions always require special ingredients, such as an emulsifier, a thickener and a stabilizer, or a specially formulated emulsifying compound. In addition, because the co-existence of water and oil promotes the growth of undesirable bacteria and moulds, creams and lotions might require cosmetic grade preservatives and antioxidants.
You can refer below for further information on healthy, skin-friendly, sustainable creams and lotions.
Natural glycerine soap bases, including Castile soap bases
Natural handmade soap is a fantastic product for everybody's skin and for the environment.
You can refer below for further information on natural glycerin soap and Castile (Castille) soap bars.
Liquid soap & shampoo bases, including Castile soap bases
Making your own as natural as possible liquid soap and shampoo is not difficult, and you can also start from a pre-made, concentrated base if you prefer.
